About Our Curriculum

The curriculum implemented throughout Starlight Academy uses a core set of tools that has been developed for teachers by teachers. With qualifications from the Missouri Department of Mental Health our teachers are qualified to implement a well-rounded curriculum with children ages 6 weeks to 12years.

Curriculum Goals

• Allowing children to learn about the world around them through hands on experiences.
• Creating an atmosphere that allows children to develop social skills in an age appropriate setting
• Teach children about the learning process and how to think critically.
• Provides families with access to lesson plans and activities on a monthly basis.
• Preparing children at each level for Kindergarten and beyond.
• Engages children in physical activity throughout the day to increase gross motor development.

Each month our classrooms receive a uniquely crafted program filled with activities that are developmentally appropriate, research-based and aligned with state standards. Each month a new module is started that is based around one monthly theme.
